Join us for a one day, two part class, if you are interested in what trail building is all about or what to lead a group this class is for you, RSVP by following this Eventbrite link (seating limited) as going on this event. You will learn lots of practical concepts and best practices for trail building and maintenance.

If you plan on leading a dig day or are a trailboss, this class is required.

We are going to spoil ya’ll with pizza so please mark as going so we know how many pies to purchase.

In the field trail experience portion of the class will start at 1:30PM at Camp Sekani area and will last from 2-3 hours. Please bring water snacks, lunch (or purchase during intermission), and a notepad or laptop for taking notes.

Location is the REI meeting room on the upper level.

When: Saturday, March 3rd at 9am
Where: Classroom Session:(classroom location at REI), Fieldwork Session: Camp Sekani Parking Lot, (Trail work location)
 
Schedule:
9am: Classroom Session begins. Please arrive a few minutes early to get signed in and seated.
12:30pm: Finish Classroom Session. Enjoy lunch provided by Food Donation or Evergreen (either at classroom site or at Camp Sekani, we had dogs and burgers by the tool shed last year)
1:30pm-5:00pm: Meet at Camp Sekani and begin Fieldwork Session on (Trail Name). Start with an extended safety briefing then hike to work site. We will work until the task is completed or 5pm. Whichever comes first. Feel free to leave when you wish.
 
What to bring:
-Cold and wet weather clothing
-Long pants
-Sturdy footwear, boots are recommended.
-Water and snacks
-Work gloves if you have them
 
What Evergreen will provide:
-All the tools
-Work gloves
-Coffee, snacks and lunch
