Join us, Spokane Parks and Recreation, and REI on National Public Lands Day to restore Beacon Hill after the Upriver-Beacon fire. We will dig fire lines and seed native plants to the burned areas all by hand. Bring the whole family, with a variety of tasks to choose from we have stewardship opportunity for volunteers of all ages. Sign in, with complementary coffee & snacks, will be from 8:30-9:30am, followed by a quick safety briefing before heading out to the burn. We will work from 10am-2pm or until the project is done.

After work check out the many nonprofit and municipal organizations on-site, including the City of Spokane Fire Department, to learn how to become more involved with Spokane trails and fire safety. The Camp Sekani/Beacon Hill area has tons of activities to enjoy including mountain biking, hiking, geocaching, and Frisbee golf.

Bring your bike if you’d like to join Evergreen on a ride after the project! Please bring: gloves, safety glasses, boots, water bottle/snacks. REI will provide water refill & snack stations throughout the project area, but you will need your own water bottle

Participants will be providing beverages (non-alcoholic) by Rocket Market and coffee/pastries to liven the mood thanks to the Rocket Bakery.
