What to expect:
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…there was a disturbance in the Flow. An Alliance of
Trailbuilders created the Jedi base of Beacon Hill to bring balance to the Flow and keep this
precious landscape out of the hands of Sith lords. Please join Evergreen East on May the 4th for a ride out of this galaxy! We will climb together
to the Imperial Towers. From there we will split off into groups based on rider level for the
descent. Will you choose to speeder bike through the trees of Endor, ride over the dirt jumps of
Tatooine, or tackle the gnarly rocks of Alderaan? Follow the way of the Jedi or succumb to the
Dark Side!
Directions:
We will be meeting at the Camp Sekani Shed. Park in the Camp Sekani gravel lot
https://maps.app.goo.gl/6yBem4izgimYoeqq6. Please be ready to roll at 11:00 am!
Ride Description:
This will be a no-drop ride through the galaxy. Expect a 6-7 mile journey and approximately
800-1000 ft of elevation, with the option for more mileage depending on the group. If there are
young Padawans accompanied by their parents/guardians or anyone that does not want to ride
all the way to the Towers, there will be a shorter loop of approximately 3-4 miles and 500-600 ft
of elevation.
Please bring your bike in good working condition, a helmet, repair tools/supplies, water, snacks,
and additional safety gear like knee/elbow pads if needed.

Join us for the Annual Gold Hill Day in Chewelah!
This is the Chewelah Valley Land Trust’s annual event to celebrate the trail network that has been created on Gold Hill / in the Gold Hill Community Forest.
Organized rides/guided tours for mountain bikers (and hikers!)–all are welcome.
Annual membership drive and member meeting–this is a great way to learn all about Gold Hill and the Chewelah Valley Land Trust, tour the trail network, and learn about what’s been built, what’s planned and provide your input and feedback regarding new trails to be built!
Background on Gold Hill Community Forest – Gold Hill is a 400 acre community forest acquired by the Chewelah Valley Land Trust (CVLT) just a few years ago. Located just north of Chewelah (the north side of the Golf & Country Club) in Stevens County. Trails are in the early stages of development, so there will be everything from brushing, digging, raking to develop new trails to brush trimming and vegetation management on existing ones.
CVLT & Evergreen will have some tools on-site to get this job done—but if you have a favorite trail-building tool (e.g. shovel, rake, Rogue hoe, McCleod, loppers, or similar), please bring those along. Gloves, sturdy shoes/boots and safety/sun glasses strongly recommended.
Logistics:
- When: Meet at 9:00 AM – 11:00AM
- Where to meet: The Gold Hill Community Forest parking lot.Location: Gold Hill borders the Chewelah golf course on the North side, the parking lot/trail head is accessed via Palmer Lane on the North end of the golf course. Google Maps directions: https://goo.gl/maps/ZFViFhjrTeLRqFV3A
